I really like that idea. Knowing ahead allows for planning ahead. Having time to dig out, fettle, and photograph future entries would be nice.

My ideas come from already existing posts here...
Fettle to fire - Stoves brought back to working condition - bringing a broken or trashed stove back to life...zombie stoves
Rusty but running - Stoves that are running but in as found and often rough and rusty condition...no shelf queens here
Stoves in use - Posts of stoves and then seeing them cooking something at home or camping
"That belongs in a museum" - Those rare, unfired and obscure stoves, shelf queens and the like...the rarer the better
Themes like Ed said...1 pinters in tins...discus stoves, stoves of a specific country of origin...etc.

Kind of lets everyone get a shot at it...we all have something that fits into these kind of themes.

    ‘From Coil to Boil’

Coil stove photo and then a photo showing it boiling a kettle…

To reduce clutter, and the potential lost "good idea", please post SoTM Theme ideas here.

    1. Two burner non-suitcaste stoves.
    2. Pre-1920 stoves.
    3. Single country stoves (I.e. Germany, Britain, India, etc.)
    4. Stoves without pumps.
    5. Stoves with cast iron trivits.

    The posibilities are endless.

    @Rodger Willows

I assume there won't ever be a category of "One found example only Australian stoves" (but there are a few), so you should consider entering your Hunt's stove.

Not sure if you are familiar with a very old christmas film called "rudolph the red nose reindeer" but in this film an elf discovers a place full of unloved Christmas toys called "the island of misfit toys"

    Some of the toys are:
A jack in the box...but is named charlie instead of jack and no one wants to play with him
a grey elephant stuffed animal with spots
a toy train but has square wheels
a toy cowboy riding an ostrich instead of a horse
a toy boat that sinks in water
a toy plane that cant fly
    a toy bird that swims

If you ever watch this film...watch carefully and in the background you can see my personal collection of misfit toys:
a radius 43 painted periwinkle blue with rust left in a barn covered in bird shit
a taykit pocket stove with a brass pipe where the windscreen goes
an enders 9061 military with shaft collars holding the cleaning needle knob together
a coil stove that looks like a phoebus but actually is made in korea and called a phoenix but with the same lettering
a Arara stove but with a poish Deba windscreen on it
a Svea 123 that smells like dishsoap when its running

I think Misfit Stoves would be hilarious...what do you think @Pharael ?

I sometimes feel like I'm intoxicated reading posts on here, odd as I don't drink at the moment. So many questions posed here, but I'm a problem solver:
