Apologies if this is discussed elsewhere But as you can see i don't know the correct terminology. This widget came with my Svea 121. Im not convinced it will work on it. Any info on if this is how you fit it or if it even works on a stove like this
Not needed for the model shown. You can add pressure before the priming fuel burns off for the style shown. Duane
Meant for a silent burners. Idea is it maintains a flame after the main priming flame has gone out, so the user can light a silent burner without it going into underburn and without having to use another match.
Some stoves of this type and size were supplied with a pilot lighter- Burmos No.21 for example. They are handy as they allow you to use the full contents of the spirit cup in cold or windy conditions without needing a second match, and give you more fumble time if your fingers are cold or you are busy talking or distracted by a squirrel. I'd have one for preference, if you are used to using them you miss them! That design of priming windshield isn't designed with pilot lighters in mind, but it will likely still work at the angle shown in your photo- they kick out a nice tall flame which will have no trouble igniting the vapour.
