Bill, I am pleased to see you post this on your 2D in this topic. Its Gorgeous! I was lucky enough to just find one and am looking at restoring, stripping and repainting. I just posted about needing the Coleman Camp Stove Sticker for after I redo it.
I was happy to find the Tank pressurizes and generator is functional. I'm not sure if this is what you are referring too - One thing I noticed is that there is a Separate Threaded ring on the pump below the pumps threaded Collar.
It looks like it is a Tube Nut. I unthreaded it in the one picture but see it seated in the next. Could this be something on yours maybe loose or other?

The ring on the pump threads is interesting. What purpose does it serve? As far as melting solder and pulling the tube out, I think that's above my skill set. I had to do some soldering work like that on a No. 1 and I found that heating one part to resolder a part ended up melting solder somewhere else and causing a new leak. I would have assumed that the pump tube is inserted and soldered in place before the end cap was crimped onto the tank.

The only thing I can think of is added security nut to hold pump tube fast to the tank, Even though it is soldered. It threads tight and does not impede the pump cap.
I don't know if there is a Flange on the inside of the pump tube and they attaché from the Other end during manufacturing of the tank before closing off the fill side.
As Bill was mentioning, I know on the Brass Kero Stoves. You can de-solder the pump tubes and solder them back . You need to add wet Towels around the areas to keep them cool while you torch the area needing done.
But if this tank has a flanged inside pump tube.... Well..... I did take my cap off and shine a flashlight but since the fill is centered, Can only see the Pump and Air Tube coming out the tom of it.
Need one of the those little flexi cameras.

This is the file I had printed. It's from a photo I took at the 2024 ICCC Convention. The resolution isn't terribly high, but the resolution of colour laser printing isn't terribly high either, so it looks better printed than on your screen.
