Experience suggests that setting a date is important for this sort of thing, so how about the last weekend of October or 2nd weekend of November?
Tentatively interested Can't do Nov 6-7th. Would have to be somewhere a caravan can get without getting stuck lol. so everyone else sort out and if it's ok and we can we will come. But put us 'at the back of the queue' for criteria.
Sorry for the lack of communication on my part; my body dropped another hint that I may not be immortal. Anyway, I've emailed Usha Gap camp site about the possibility of a group booking, 12-14 Nov. Waiting for a reply and will post here. We've been there before a few times in the mid to late noughties; check out 'UG' in 'Events & Meets'.
Looked it up. Looks good. Annes up for it, BUT (and unfortunately one I can't get around), it will have to be a last min thing as Health is very up and down at the mo. UG looks like a site we might like to use at other times anyway. Not been around that neck of the woods for decades. I need a CPAP at night but we have a spare car battery we can bring to power it.
Just had an email from Usha Gap to say the they're closed from the beginning of November until mid-March. I'll have a look for other suitable sites and post here as soon as I know more. If anybody knows of any sites in that general area, please feel free to suggest.
Well, I looked up a few sites using the excellent search facility at ukcampsite.co.uk and sent a few emails. All responded promptly and a lady called Amanda at Cow Close Camping rang me pretty much straight away. After a short chat, I provisionally booked 5 pitches for Fri. 12 Nov & Sat. 13 Nov. Nothing too definite at this stage; hopefully by the turn of the month we'll have a good idea who is going.
