Got it in the mail earlier. Didn't have time for photos, etc. We always go to my fil's for supper on Wednesday evenings. Looks good. The fire/flame ring got a bit smashed up during shipping. Mostly have it straightened out with just my fingers. Cool little stove.
Sorry, it's all I've got. I'll take some photos at the supper table later, just for @IvanN the great.
@IvanN , I apologize, I misread that earlier from my phone. Now I can see what you said/meant. Sorry about that. Funny you should say that, my fil was the one that got me started on vintage stoves. I had hiking/camp stoves, but none vintage. He was the one that gifted me the Primus 71, Optimus 99, and Coleman Peak 1, model 576.
Took a few photos. Case. Really like it, but will like it better once I make a strap for it: Opened up: The goods: Burner ring was bent like crazy when I got it. I guess it happened during shipping. Bent it back to where it at least works: Nice patina: Priming. I guess I really didn't need the windscreen: Fired right up, but was losing air pressure fairly fast. Guessing the fuel cap needs a new seal. No worries, have a kit ordered for it: Case size comparison with my Primus 210 case: I like the added size, makes it easier to fit, yet will probably rattle around a lot more: Primus 210 next to the Optimus 00: Really liking the size of the smaller stoves. Look forward to getting a chance to use them. Thanks for looking.
Oh yeah. Optimus 00 at Ipsut Creek: And at Echo Lake: Svea 121 at Goat Lake: Veritas 1-pinter on the Skokomish: And on and on...the one-pinters are where it's at....
@Tony Press Thank you sir. @Ed Winskill Making me jealous, haha. Cannot wait to get out and actually use them, plus, finally get some outside photos going.
Very nice - You can use a rubber mallet and the knob on a cars tow hook to straighten out flame rings - gives a good angle as well @Ed Winskill Great pics!
An Australian 375mm beer bottle is ideal for shaping a battered flame ring. You get to drink the contents, as well: Fettling an Optimus 00 flame spreader using a beer bottle Cheers Tony
You just like the idea of drinking the beer! Me too. Maybe I'll go bend a flame ring just so I have an excuse to drink one.
Don't drink beer. Hoping my whiskey bottle will work, haha. Beer schmeer, give me the Scotch or Bourbon any day of the week.
Anyone have any idea for a date for this stove? Assuming later, because of the case, if it even came with this case.
