I have an old yellow one, I have used it for my Coleman 550B for 25 years. Also perfect for a Coleman 400. Where can I get a new one? I also wonder if the blue one is the right size for a Coleman 222(226, 229) lantern. Tron

I don’t have a blue one, I have the yellow one, for my 00, a red one I don’t think they are making again yet that fits my 96, and a narrow red one that would fit a fuel bottle and collapsible burner. I’ll get pic of that one when I can.
Their growler parkas might work for some stoves, too. Maybe a Hurlock or something. Kind of pricey, though. ....Arch

I've been using a padded light case, which is sold in Hobby stores, for quilters, knitters, and beaders. It's called a "Daylight" lamp, and the case fits the older MSR stoves perfectly. No mesh insert, unfortunately. In any case, (no pun intended), here is what I have: This first one, I got with an MSR stove inside it, complete with an old Bandaid can filled with spares and parts. Here are the Daylight cases, each marked with what MSR stove is inside it. And, the logo for these cases: When I found these cases, I bought a case of them, which was 12, if not mistaken. Sweet Bride used a couple, for her work goodies, and I have filled the rest with different models of MSR early stoves, in the X-GK family. They work, nicely, but in truth, I'd rather have the OR cases, and will probably go for some of them, IF they are, indeed, available once again! @Doc Mark Thanks for the additional info on the daylight padded cases. @Hazet was kind enough to reach out (thank you Jon) with this link: Padded Cell #5 But 49$ Plus postage will be more than I paid for a very generous MSR stove package from my friend @OMC - so those Daylight ones starts to look attractive. (I will mark all mine “#9” as well ;-) ) A good example of complimentary options is the thin and lightweight tin for the Swedish WASA “dry bread” which cost me 2$ and just fits my M1942 MOD perfectly. (It looks humongous - but its smaller and lighter than the original ALU tin)
Here are the padded cell sizes I have. This red one I have not seen new again yet, with a 96in it. This yellow one with a 00 I just found this hip flask for meths that holds 3oz on one side and has a compartment on the other. It can fit a disposable lighter or matches and it fits in the lid of the case as you can see it’s roomier than the tins for 96s This new red one fits my espresso kit well. Here is a .6L Sigg bottle for comparison.I like the padding when I pack, it keeps things cushioned from not getting banged around. Ivan
An 8R/99 fits perfectly in the red cube. I also have a 96 in one. Hope they bring that one back, as well! Basil
Forum; Not that I don't get a lot of great info from this forum...I do!...but I almost let myself get led astray...as in, let myself get led down the "unnecessarily expensive route"! I was recently looking for a padded case for a Bluet Camping Gaz stove, and after seeing this thread, I even went as far as bidding on some OR insulated water bottle bags...then thought about it, took a step back, and looked at my "insulated lunch bag" collection...and because one man's thermal insulation of his lunch, is another man's protective padding of his camping stove, that little Bluet (or even the SVEA123, if I elect to take that for a trip) are now snug as a bug in a protective bag...and one of them even has a zippered, and insulated little lower compartment which can serve a place for the extra fuel canister if needed. Cost: $0.0, because it came from stock, but while I was out and about, I sought out these "insulated lunch bags"...it seems they are available from as discrete or as colorful, as you might want, and as simple or featureloaded as you can imagine, and also quite inexpensive. ...just another option I'd though I'd mention...why didn't I think of it earlier...
