After fettling a Primus 96 yesterday, I was in the mood and started on one of my first purchases, a Parasene camping stove, further no details or numbers on the stove. I guess it's a 1/2 pint or 5/8 pint being a little bigger (but not much) than a Svea 123. I started with cleaning the tank, some cleaner and a handful of M5 nuts and shake shake shake. Changed the washers everywhere and the pip in the pressurevalve on the fuelcap. Changed the pumpleather with a new 14mm and tried to remove the NRV, but my NRV removal tool wasn't the right size, so I tried the stove with al the rest changed and didn't noticed a problem with the NRV, no leaks and it builds up pressure. Maybe will try to remove this later, than it's a full revision. I noticed the jet wasn't the right size, or worn so I decided to remove it. Making a long story short, its removed but have the use some alternative tools to get it out. Seamed like my jetkeys didn't fit, a little to small. But it passed the coffeetest and the more I look at it, the more I like the model. Have to take it sometime outside to see how the silent burner performs in the wild. Next step is the cleaning up.
Hi Tracer The potstand/wind shield on your Parasene is really a cool idea 8) i have not seen this before , is the fount a half pinter & does the stand just slip on to the fount or is it clipped or screwed on . Best regards Stu
Hi Stu, It's just a slip on/push on system. This is the stove without the windshield. You can see the winshield at the background.
Hi Tracer I've seen the stove size/type before but not the windshield/potstand that goes with it , it's really neat & tidy idea for a small stove & not so wobbly as the slip on pot legs when i get time i may try to make a similar one for a one pint veritas or a 96 Stu
Hi Tracer. Great post. I have never seen this particular model of stove before. Here is a link to a Monitor from the early 1930s, which although a petrol stove you can see they have taken a similar approach to creating an integrated stove/enclosure/support structure: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/12544 The base Parasene stove seems somewhat similar to these: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/11706 Best Regards, Kerophile.
Definetly looks the same, but it's a roarer on the photo and mine's a silent burner. Maybe they did both, or..... Have to check the burner again,it's marked parasene, the height is good, looks original but will have a closer view. @loco7stove I took some photo's from the windshield. It's an easy system, but it works like a charm. I saw on the photo from Kerophile that the potstand was removable, I tried with mine and it's just a push-on ring.
Hi Tracer, in the link I posted the owner did state that the stove was originally fitted with a silent burner, although it has a roarer in the photo. Best Regards, Kerophile.
I missed that line of text Kerophile. But glad to know mine is the original. Altought, for a campingburner you should think the use off a roarer is better. Great little stove, gonna take with me on the next trip.
Hi @Tracer Just wondering if this is the model that has three dimpled feet being part of the base metal plate? i.e. the stove does not sit flat on the circular edge of the fount rim.
