Not often I post here but after a week of hunting in the Netherlands for lamps this 'ere Primus 516 was the only thing of any interest I found. It is in great condition with near all the original black paint in place and all I had to do to make it run was replace the filler cap seals. I did not even have to use a pricker. It came without the burner inner and outer caps so I borrowed those from the two three leg stoves I have. Dated T so 1929 I guess but different numbers on each tank. Not sure if I overpaid for it and I have no clue what such a beast might be worth or how rare or not it might be but I like it. ::Neil::
Hi Neil what a super range you have got the condition is fantastic all the brass has a beautifull original patina the enammel work is superb for its age and i would say you have scored your self quite a rare piece well done there
Thanks for that Brian. It is indeed very clean and appears to still have the original lacquer on the underside of the tanks. All I did was wash it. It will not see polish as I like the patina as it is. I am good with lamps but have little idea about how rare or not a stove might be. I have very few stoves here. Not because I don't like them, it is a space thing. I have a huge collection of pressure lighting and there simply isn't enough room to add stoves to the pile. For the right offer I might be tempted to part with this. Have to be a lamp I don't have though. ::Neil::
