    Good Evening, All,

On the Bay of Evil, I bid on, and won some Korean stove parts today. To whit, the metal box, fuel tank with extra nipple, and fuel storage cap, one pot support/leg, and a windscreen, for a Sanyaro SBM 505 stove. I have no idea about whether Swedish parts will fit this stove, but hope so. I've sent a note to a dear friend in Korea, asking for more information about this stove, and the needed parts. We'll see if he can help, if the Swedish parts do not fit. I don't know if this stove's burner riser is left-handed thread, or right-handed thread.

Like many others of you, I greatly admire the stoves produced in South Korea, and own several wonderful models, all of which are very nicely manufactured. So, please keep your fingers crossed that I did not buy a useless "pig in a poke", when it comes to needed parts! ;) However, "nothing ventured...."! I'll keep you all apprised, and post photos after the parts arrive, and I find out whether the Swedish parts will work. Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

I saw that one, no burner. :( Neat embossed tin.

    Evening, Duane,

Yes, I was worried about the burner, too. But, also loved the engraving on the font, and the extra nipple mount on the font! So, I decided to take a chance. Might have a lead, already. We'll see how it all turns out. Like you say, very nice embossed tin, and with a bit of TLC it would be quite lovely! Have a great evening, Good Sir, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Mark

    Howdy, Guys,

I just took some screen shots of the parts that I bought the "Bay". IF I can find a replacement burner, and caps, this could turn out to be a great stove. In any case, here are some teaser shots of what I have coming my way:

    1.jpeg

Glad to see the one little pot support.leg in the tin. If I can't locate some spares, then, hopefully, I can cobble two more to match this one.

    2.jpeg

If I can locate a proper Korean burner and riser, this windscreen might well fit.

Very nice engraving, with typical, excellent Korean workmanship!

    5.jpeg

Interesting little spare jet/nipple mount on the font! I've not seen one of those before. That it still contains it's spare jet, is a nice surprise, too!

    6.jpeg

I was happy to see the fuel tank sealing cap in place.

The tin looks to be in fairly good condition. Some rust removal, and a fresh coating of paint, and it should look pretty good.

All in all, I'm quite pleased to have found this, and I do hope it can be made whole again! Thanks for checking it out, and God Bless!

Tin looks like many of my Optimus stove tins when received. Good luck finding a decent burner.

    Greetings, All,

Today, I got a nice little package from South Korea! Here is what was inside:

    IMG_0469.jpg

These parts are what I was needing to make my Korean Sanyaro SBM 505 stove complete! Please note that this stove is complete with both roarer and silent burner parts! YAY!! My sincere and humble thanks to our own @gunsoo , and his good friend, Mr. Sun, who is a very famous stove forum Master in Korea, for sending these parts my way!! I am now looking forward to getting the time to work on this stove, and to fire it up! I want to cook some Korean food on it, and some others of the great Korean stoves that I have! My mouth is watering, just thinking about it!! I will see if I can get this thread transferred to the Stove Reference Gallery, in the proper location, so anyone who had interest can follow along and see how things progress!

Heartfelt thanks, again, to @gunsoo , and Mr. Sun!! If either, or both of you ever need parts, with which I can help you, please let me know, and I'll do my best to help!! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Hi, @gunsoo ,

We are still wondering what Korean food we will cook up on this stove, once it is up and running again! I have to modify the pot supports as they are a little short for the burner. But, I am considering cutting the one original leg that came with the stove tank, into some small shims, to ride down inside the mounting holes on the fuel tank, so the shorter pot supports will ride on them, and keep them from sliding down too far. In any case, the burner passes gas already, so that is a relief! Right now, we are dealing with a big order from our business, so I've had to set aside the Sanyaro stove until I've finished making the needed inventory. But, I'm really looking forward to getting this lovely stove back in good condition, and thanks to you, and Mr. Sun, that is now possible!! Yay!! I will make sure to send you a note, when I post some flame shots, and also when we begin cooking some delicious Korean dishes! Thank you, again, and please do not hesitate to ask, if you are in need of parts that I can supply to you, and to Mr. Sun!! Take care, my friend, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Mark
