Here's a Primus 210 born at the beginning of the war. She bears the scars of this misfortune.

The shape of the tank looks funny. It looks like having a prime cup at the basis of the burner. Has its first owner sitten on it ?

Looks good to me. It definitely looks like it went through the war than somebody sitting on it. I would call its custom features its character. This one has lots of character. Maybe it got a few kicks on the football field?

I would be proud to own one like that!

    You are completely right !
Stoves found intact in the box did not witness the century they went through. This beauty, surely, has a lot to tell

Hi Nikos, Wow, now that is something new! I have never before seen a factory-produced indentation like that in a Primus No.210 stove tank.
It looks like the spirit indentation that one sees on blowlamps, but this stove already has a spirit-cup.
It is possible that Primus were using thinner gauge brass, due to War-time material shortages and that the additional bends are an alternative means of stiffening the tank.

Stoves never cease to surprise me.
    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Taken a whack I reckon. So, was there any names on the non-original filler cap as per your previous 'ore-arrival' post?

Got a couple of fixed leggers with the same indentation at the top of the tank, and a 210 somewhere, with the same.

Can someone smash a normal stove to see if it deforms similarly ?

That's a beautiful theory ! Stovies never cease to surprise me ;)

    Hey Nikos,

I see that your 210 is missing the flame ring. It so happens that yesterday I finished fettling a 210 (1939) that also had the flame ring missing.

Based on prior experience, I easily made a nice flame ring from a small strip of sheet steel. It is 120 mm long by 20 mm wide. The steel I have is 0.4 mm thick, but thicker material could be used. I cut notches on one side of the strip, at about 5 mm intervals. They are about 6 mm deep. Then I bent the cut area about 45 degrees out, and curved the strip to form a ring. There it goes:
