Purchased on the forum, unfired and I'm not sure whether I will light it or not.
I really like the mess tin/container and little spares kit (in a fetching pearl pink box).

Perhaps unfired is overrated. Once only proves it works. Some companies test each unit once anyway. The tool looks interesting and a bit long too.

    thanks for posting it.

    Hello
This design is interesting as the windscreen is so low it is beneath the entire burner head. None of my Scmel's are like that as the windscreen rises at least to the top row of holes on the outer cap.
please post a pix of the parts box
I am usually swayed to purchase things if they have tools or spares kits

Shmel 2’s or Shmel 4’s (as this example) are you referring to? Interesting observation. Here’s my Shmel 4, where the burner is a bit lower relative to the top of the windscreen.

The burner height is a constant and the only variables are whether there is a packing washer between burner riser and tank mounting boss and how compressed (thick) the mating face of the aluminium spirit tray is.

Here are mine. Thanks for getting me to dig them out. I like them.
The two single burners are the Olympic year models are have the highest windscreens, the #3 has slight differences but are both pretty much below the screen. The #2 is highest.

@Paul B Thanks for clarifying. I took your comment to mean that your Shmel 4 had a burner much lower, comparative to the windscreen, than the Shmel frg7700 had posted details of. In fact you weren’t comparing like with like. Different models of Shmel.

    Thank you!
I'm thinking the paper holds extra pricking needles.
I am thinking of doing a picture search for all the types of funnels that came with these stoves. only 2 of my 4 have the usual white flattened type. That one fits best in the can. My #2 has a round white one with Cyrillic writing, it gets kind of mushed in with the stove. My #3 has a red round one devoid of any markings but I still feel it is original.
    Thanks again
    Paul
