Very surprised how big this is and very sturdy, not a cheap stove. Surgical tubing it feels like for the fuel line to the stove. Much of the line could be cut off and used if/when the original section gets brittle or cracked. Takes a bit to shut down, guess the fuel path is lengthy. Has quite a tall flame, nice blue color close to the burner. Not a lightweight option for a backpack stove, another toy. Stove and hoses, valve, pump weigh: 16.8oz./477grams Fuel bottle: 4.25oz./121grams Since it is slow to get to a simmering flame, takes a few minutes, initially when turning down was similar to the simmer of a small isobutane stove. Flame is centered, so only the middle shows any action. Duane
Tinkered some more this morning. Understanding functions today. Black bulb with screw, screwed in adds pressure and holds it, I thought it needed the screw opened to add pressure, but always heard air escaping. Valve in middle of hose shuts stove down so pressure in fuel bottle can be kept. Screw on bulb regulates flame better and faster as you add or release pressure by unscrewing it. Pressurized fuel bottle with less pressure this morning and can get a fairly decent blue flame now. Running this, the flame isn't real consistent as you can hear the flame rise and fall a tiny bit. serch in this site for "not a frankie", there I postred this"i got it, not really an arsionist tool (at list, not only) 1 liter water boils 3 minutes and 40 seconds burning 35 grams od denaturized alcohol (10% water) seriosly it is better then what it could seem, only attention is not to pressurize too much, but the burner noise dramatically chenging will advise you.
I’m replacing the valve that is midway on the hose, a CCF member pointed out that the valve was for air. Ordered a small, fuel rated valve. The coil is made from copper, so when tinkering with the stove, the coil is easily moved out of position. I’m a little disappointed as I thought the stove would be much smaller, similar to a MSR WL or X-GK. Being an alcohol stove, it does suck down the fuel. Duane
