What concentration (grammes of citric acid to litres of water) shall I use to clean a heavily tarnished stove? For how long shall I dip? Joe
Hi Joe I use a heaped dessertspoon / 25grams added to 1/2 a litre of hot water & then I gently work off the tarnish with very fine wire wool or a stiff nylon brush. I also add some wallpaper paste to the mix to make a gel like thickish yogurt whick sticks on the parts you are stripping, making it easier to leave the mix in place doing its work Try here. Hope this helps, Stu.
I use a flat teaspoon (I believe this is about 5 grams) of acid powder in 1/2 liter of warm (not hot) water, and soak for about 15-20 minutes. I dip again to remove persistent stains. Yonadav
