Hi All, I have acquired a Coleman 522 Stove. According to what I have been able to find, this stove was manufactured between 1942-1945 so definitely a WW2 stove. The stove is in pretty darn good shape for a 69+ year old stove. All I've done is clean the stove up just a little and added a spirit cup for preheating. Some like the excitement of the fire ball when first lighting one of these stoves. Personally I don't care for it so this is why I added the spirit cup. The stove came with a home made trivet which works pretty darn good. The stove is quite the blow torch and boils a gallon of water pretty quick. I believe these stoves were intended for the medical units for heating and sterilization of the surgical tools, but I'm guessing they did a lot of cooking an them too. The stove doesn't simmer very well but if you keep working at it you can get it down to a semi simmer. There are tabs in the burner bell that are or seem to be configured to rotate the flame in a counter clockwise pattern and it seems to work pretty good. Pictures included enjoy. I like it , I have never seen one , and not very likely to here in "under down under " there are so many nice stoves , blowtorches and lanterns / lamps I would like to own . but either not available here , or too pricey for me , postage has just got so costly both here in Aus and international cheers kerry
