I have an Optimus 155 marine stove and had to remove one of the burners for repair. When I attempted to re-install the burner I got leaks at the junction between the fuel pipe and the burner. It looks like a tapered fitting and nut. Is there some type seal I'm missing or is there another problem?

I believe it may be a Burner tightening cone? Can this be fabricated or do I need a new one?

    Hello Jet-A.
Yes that is the part you need but there are 2 types.
The aluminium one you have shown I found have been used with methylated spirit stoves mainly and the copper type on kerosene stoves.
I have found the aluminium type are usually damaged from oxidation from the meths fuel(presence of water) so I don't know why anyone would still use them in those stoves. They are suitable for kerosene stoves but take a little more tightening to seal the joint.
The copper ones I find are better to use as they seal easier after annealing them first and can be stack-able to allow for variances in burner height. John

    Hello Jet-A.
If you go to the top of the page and click onto "Links", you will find suppliers there.
Sometimes they appear on auction sites and Marine stove fitters might have some on hand if you are lucky. Cheers, John

Base Camp had them. Just waiting for the mailman to get across the big pond.

    Thanks
