Well my addiction continues I had been mouching around tbay and gumtree etc looking for a Hurlock but the prices were a bit much for me but I managed to get one. As soon as I opened the parcel I could smell a cross between a damp canvas tent and an army and navy shop. Now what to do apart from the obvious of getting it working. It's missing the wind shield and the clip that holds the legs in place is gone. So I will make a shield and graft a clip. What I can't decide is wether to fully strip down and re-paint or not. The paint defo looks like it was applied by the army. Are their any manufacturing marks that will identify exact year of manufacture? It has a brass tank.
Check the pot support legs for stampings. If there is a mark that's where it will be. Many were sold post war. No markings. Some info here. Bring out your Hurlocks It should clean up nicely.
