Yesterday I came across this stove , never seen name before Manaslu stove 121 by Hope company limited . Was in old barn yard sale wrapped up in old scouts back €5 was the asking price . Now time to research and try service it as needs new pump leather .
@Paul Lydon havent seen them on basecamp until you mentioned it …. Had a quick look . Seems they are out of stock . And selling for hefty price also .
There’s no date stamp that I recall. Just going on the looks of the tin I’d say ‘60’s. Contemporary ones come in a bag, like this one in a Yokohama department store I was browsing.
So still producing them today …. So must be a good stove . im just waiting for washer kits to arrive and I see which is best for it to service and get it up and running again …. I’m happy with purchasing it for €5 ….I will try do act the Japanese company which produce the stove to forward some information regarding its history .
5 € ... Excellent score! It's a bit dirty, but after cleaning and service it's ready for use. Few years back I visited Japan and was able to buy couple of Manaslu stoves with GREAT help from @YOSH. Manaslu is very well made and high quality stove. I really like them!!!
@Afterburner have you serviced yours since you purchased , I’m trying to search for service kit , especially for the NRV NON RETURN VALVE . Which service packs for stoves are compatible to use with this stove . And will the NRV need a special size tool to remove it or will a standard tool be ok to use . .
I haven't needed to service my Manaslu stoves (as I mentioned they are high quality stoves ), so I don't know what kind of NRV tool is needed to remove NRV.
Ok thanks for reply … I’m still searching for relevant service kit and information . I will order a protective case for it as I see online ,
