So these things have always been something id love to collect but couldn't afford them, well I found some for sale cheaper then a #1 at McDonald's so I now have a small collection including a colman 502 and a 400. As well as a optomous 8R and a no. 00. And its these last to i have a few questions on. The no.00 is missing pices, id like to know what the pieces names are so I can replace them. The 8R came with 3 caps, 1 has a hax head thats not usable with the 2 pumps it has, the othere 2 fit but are slightly different. Was wondering if anyone knew what the significance of this is and if it matters. Also sorry if I post this in the wrong area its my first post amd I do better in the forrest then I do navigating web stuff

Welcome, nice start. The 8R is self pressurizing, so doesn’t necessarily need a pump. The correct cap to use with a pump, has a long extension on the end that is inside the tank.
For the 00, a flame spreader, they come in two sizes for these smaller stoves, the 00 uses the smaller size, but could use the larger one which is suited for 210 sized burners, just slight difference.
The base camp should have your parts.

    Welcome to CCS.

    For the Optimus No.00

You will also need the three pot support legs and a reserve cap.

The reserve cap has two functions:

    1) Screws onto the end of the pump…makes the pump easier to hold.

2)When breaking down the stove to store in a tin, the burner is removed and the reserve cap is then screwed into the tank to seal it - useful if transporting fuel.

I would suggest you also request a full seal kit for this stove as well.

    Greetings, @Gilliam ,

Welcome to CCS! You have a good start on getting a nice collection of stoves together! Check out yard sales, and flea markets, for more opportunities to score more interesting stoves! Also, check out antique stores! Years ago, I scored a fantastic Max Sievert SVEA #14 from 1910, at the Lake Geneva Antique Mall, in Wisconsin! This is a very rare stove, and the price I paid was MORE than reasonable. So, the more you look, the more you will find! I might also suggest that you subscribe to this site, as it will offer you some amazing information about stoves! It's a very small cost, and MORE than worth it! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

I actually spend a lot of time at antique stores looking for vintage lighters and a few other things for the right prices. 95% of the backpacking stoves i seen are 502's already got 1, then 4% are coleman duel fuels, 1% are something worth taking a look at but priced out of my price range. However yard sales in suburbia have been amazing. The 400 was 8usd, the 8R and 00 where 12 each

Your 8R pumps and caps were designed for 199, the multifuel spinoff of 8R.
Both fits perfect on 8R and allows it to reach full power faster than without pump - they are same part number, just different production years.

Where are you in Wisconsin? I’m in the Madison area if you’re ever in the area. Also, there is a Coleman gathering in Westfield coming up April 24-25. For info, check out the Coleman collector’s forum.
