    Before and after shots.

I do not usually go so mad on the polishing
New wind shield and reserve cap supplied by base camp the only thing that lets it down is the flame spreader. It is a very tight fit over the burner and is pretty bent up!

    Hi Gordon
They had some horrible brown gunge or residue like varnish on them so I had to get pretty aggressive with them and ended up using 000 wire wool and solvol autosolv and then Brasso.
I would not recommend wire wool for the tank it really scratches the smoother surface of the tank and then takes ages to polish out. I am worried about damaging the engraving.
I used wallpaper paste mixed with water containing a fairly strong mix of citric acid crystals left it to soak for an hour or so then rinsed it of and began polishing. Thanks for the comments.
Going to do the flame shots tonight. I might try and clean the crud from inside the tank first, I can here something in there if I shake the tank.
    Cheers Nick

    Flame shots.
It sounded like a Saturn 5 taking off.
