When you say looking at... do you mean as something to purchase, say on an auction site?

I have a couple, and a few 71s. They are real nice. On the other hand, I never use them. My 123 I've used countless times....always with the Sigg set.

I like 'em (Optimus, Primus and Radius versions). And they seem to work great. But, I also tend to let mine sit on the self. If that is all I had, I'd happy use it.

:) Hi Tezz, I do not have an 80, I would love 1 though, to go with my Radius 42 and my Primus 71,maybe a svea 123. They are without doubt very good stoves in all their variations, go for it, you will not regret it. Parts can still be found at Base Camp, link on CCS site. Enjoy, and my Best Regards. Optimust.

    Greetings, All,

I, too, love and enjoy the Optimus 80, Primus 71, and Radius 42, and I also am in deep love with a good SVEA 123, or 123R!! And, I'll echo the comments of some of those who already posted here: I do tend to use the SVEA stoves far more than the Optimus, Primus, or Radius models. Why? I'm not sure. The 123 stoves are just so darned good, and so easy to use, once you get used to them, that my affection for them runs just a tad deeper than the other aforementioned models. All that having been said, the 80, 71, and 42 are excellent and very capable stoves, and very much worth owning, and using!! To the OP, I'd say, "Go for it, Sir"!! I think you will love the Optimus 80, once you score it, and check it for safety. Good luck in your quest! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc
