Hi, first post on this forum. Great community and resource!

I just purchased an 8R to rehab. I have also been looking at the 111s. So, my question is, can you use a 111 kero burner head on an 8R and have a dual fuel stove? Or do you need the 111 tank with the additional pump mechanism for the kero burner head to work properly? Or are they simply two totally differently designed/constructed stoves and ne'er the twain shall meet?

    Thanks for any assistance.

Hi kerophile, thanks for responding. I'm new to these stoves. So, I'm not quite sure if I understand your response. It seems like you're talking about a different stove or two. Are you saying that the 111 kero burner head has a different thread than the 8R non kero burner head? So, you can't just screw a 111 kero burner head on the 8R? Or would you need an adapter to go from the 8R fuel tube female threads to the 111 kero burner head male threads?

OK, I think I'm making a wrong assumption that the only difference in the two mechanisms is the burner head. And that's based on some replacement burner head pictures I have seen which are likely not accurate/to scale. So, two different scales and, to a large extent, designs. In other words, two different stoves without crossover. It makes sense and answers my questions.

Thanks, guys. I really appreciate it and the nice welcome to the community.

    Hi @Kris Kalanges

Yes, different scales. But the 199 is the factory equivalent of what you would like to do.

Welcome aboard. The skills of many here are truly stunning and I doubt you will be told something cannot be done!

    Welcome to CCS.

Scale is one things and gas/ fuel is another one. Example 8r and 111b, different scale but same gas. Why 111 is not on Coleman gas?
    Have fun!!

Yep, you answered your own question. They are two totally different stoves without interchangeable parts.

Everything is possible but it depends on your imagination and building skill level.
