This is in local flea market. What is that "thing" under the burner(pic 4.)? Under the tank stamped "O".

Can you take that windshield out/off and make a better photo from that "thing"? For a some reason that "thing" looks like body/shell of a bicycle hub (that has a shoe brakes. Maybe (SA?) front hub...).

Looks that some local smith or handy man has done a spirit cup with a windshield for the stove. Maybe that stove has been used in outdoor applications.

Edit: Stamp 'O' means manyfacturing year 1925: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/11464

Could it have been one of those adaptations that allowed the use of kerosene to pre-heat?

I seem to recall that Monitor made a doo-hickey that did that..... I might be wrong.

    Very curious though.

    Many thanks for sharing.

    Best regards,

    Mike.

Mike, that's the best suggestion I've seen yet.
And I also think you are correct.
It doesn't look exactly like the Primus paraffin preheater, but perhaps someone used one from another brand? Or it's a later/different model.

Below is a page that show a Primusversion of the Paraffin preheater. It's from the 1912 catalogue in the reference library.
Part R1209 (or R1210) is the one that is the equivalence to the remaining part on Tomih's stove.
It should also have the perforated lid -part R1211- that goes over the rest.

    Yes, most likely.
The fist link show the same preheater that is seen in the catalogue image I posted just above.
It's not exactly the same as yours, and that's why I suggested it could be the same type of device, but perhaps not of Primus' brand, but taken from another stove manufacturer.
