Hi, newer member here, I had posted o here about a week ago and I don't know how to find that post and all the replies. Anyone advise me on how to get back to those comments (posts)? I also just picked up a Primus 96 "F" model, will post a picture later. I believe it to be a 1916 stove? It is in good condition but I may like to replace a part or two and it does not have a wrench in the case; are parts still available for this stove? Thanks, Murray

Parts to get it running are available. Washers from the Fettle Box, pump leathers from Sefa in Member Services.

Accessory parts like the wrench and spirit bottle are a bit harder to find but show up on eBay from time to time.

I have a few pictures and questions regarding my Primus 96. The rising tube (vaporizer?)is stuck in the burner basket and someone has tried to get it apart and looks like the vaporizer tube is now twisted. How can I get this apart? Do I need to look for a new tube and burner basket?
The stove is dated "F" and the vent looks like it has an "E" stamped on it. Any comments about the stove? I really don't know much about repairing it, only what I have read on line and I do not have any experience with this. I have only recently started looking at all this information after coming across some old stoves while on an arctic trip. Suggestions welcome.

    Thanks. Murray

Ray, I posted 4 pictures of the 96 on this site. Do you have any suggestions about the vaporizer tube (bent and stuck)?
    Thanks
    Murray

    Hi Murray

Yes i think it's an early 96 too & try heating up the burner basket where it joins the tip of the lipstick vapouriser with a propane torch then quenching it in cold water , do this several times & it should loosen it enough to remove it by hand [-o< , try not to heat the lipstick burner where the threads are as this will melt the soft solder seal around it :!: :rage:

Be patient you need to take your time doing this :!: , shout me if you're in trouble :D
