Several years ago I was lucky enough to find a Sigg tourister cookset with a svea stove inside. Now I know these are not uncommon, but what was unusual in this case - the set included four plates also manufactured by Sigg. Since then I don't think I have seen another that included any plates at all (I have since found two additional plates of the same size, but unmarked). The plates must have been an optional item, but I am curious what people used, if not the Sigg plates? Don
I haven't seen the Sigg plates. We always use these high-impact plastic camp plates (can't remember the brand) with a good raised edge, seen here in the foreground and background with the Sigg/Svea combo: They are light and very durable.

I suspect the aluminum plates were not very popular - hot to hold, cooled off food too quickly - but they nest perfectly into the cookset. Don
Thanks! What you say is very true, but I still wish I had some for my Sigg set. The set's one drawback is its bulk, and it would be nice to have a couple of plates for only the small extra weight. ....Arch
