Just brought another one back to life. This is my 3rd 123; I have one 123R but I prefer the older models. I finally got one that included the folding pricker that I've been after for months. Spent 3 hours on it with Brasso, brushes, a bunch of cotton swabs and some Nu Finish car polish. It only needed a tank lid gasket and it runs like new. Paid 41 dollars. Scott
Beautiful work Scott Did you do anything to the pot and handle? Looks great!!! Think about adding your stove to the ref gallery with some sweet flame shots. Jeff
Very nice, Sir. You can't have too many 123s. As Trevor says, it is and will be, one of the best designs. The most fun you can have with a 123 is to be found out in the woods, alone. Just you and your little Buddy Svea. Thanks for posting the pictures...maybe think about the Gallery. Al
I have a mildly abrasive 6" wheel that I use on an AC motor to take the initial very heavy tarnish off the stove and the cup as well. After that I go to the Brasso and Q-tips to reach the tough spots, and on the inside of the windscreen I used a somewhat hard nylon brush. Letting the Brasso sit on there for a few minutes makes it easier to clean.
Only 9 pics of 123's in the gallery and only a couple of semi-outdoor shots? Thought there would be more. I'll take some nicer outdoor shots tomorrow since it's finally warmed up a bit here in northern NY. 65° today but I still had to fire up the wood stove this morning. Scott
Scott, have a troll through the Action Gallery - you will see SVEA 123's in the outdoors from New Zealand to Scotland. Cheers, Rob
