This TV series is the prequel to Breaking Bad; some here may have heard of it. It's about lawyer Jimmy McGill and his moral flexibility, among other things. I'd heard of it and one of my kids recommended it and I've been watching it on Netflix from time to time; I'm into the 3rd season. The reason I mention it here is that it's the only show of any kind that I've ever seen that has Coleman white gas stoves and lanterns front and center, so to speak. One major line of plot involves Chuck McGill, Jimmy's upright, establishment lawyer older brother. Chuck is self-confined to his home with EHS, electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrome, an actual psychiatric disorder. Chuck can't have any electricity in the house, and nobody can bring anything electrical in, such as cellphones, etc. Chuck uses Coleman lanterns for light, and a Coleman stove for cooking. There are innumerable scenes where the lanterns are on, being lit, etc.; and many scenes of cooking on the Coleman suitcase, including the complete preparation of a gourmet meal on it (pretty clearly a 425). Pretty remarkable really, if you are one of us....
The law and lawyer stuff in the series is congruent enough with reality for me to really enjoy it. Sometimes shows about ones' own trade or profession are hard to watch; all you see is the mistakes. But there aren't many in the show. Dramatic exagerrations to be sure now and then.
Not often I watch a whole series on TV but I really enjoyed this one . Michael McKean as Chuck McGill gives an incredible performance . Fabulous actor .
Also I thought about them, the lantern and stove at Chuck's house! Breaking Bad and Better call Saul, I really like the director's taste and the way to film every scene! Thanks Netflix...!
