I think that is pretty much it. There may be a minor difference in weight, but maybe not. Pretty sure the copper colored one is of more recent manufacture.

I think it has to do with them rebranding within themselves from "peak 1" and "feather" to " exponent"

otherwise ive never noticed any difference they are both a 442 model just differing years of manufacter

The pot supports differ slightly.. the 442 has a full cross design where as the Exponant has a back to back flat bottomed V configuration.

What the benefit is, i don't know. there must be one !! Re-tooling and product redesign isn't free.

Exponent is most recent. Coleman likes to rebadge this stove (and many others). I have this stove unfired in a box, black tank, called "Mountaineer", which was another short-lived re-badging some years ago.

Same happened with 550 range of stoves, also rebadged and different colors, but the stove remains the same(ish)

On the other hand, Coleman have been selling these stoves for many years, both the 442 and the 550(b), so I guess they just wanted an image lift.

Can't blame them, because, both, the 442 and the 550(b) are very good stoves for their purpose. I think all sports-fisherman(With a pole is called sport fishing here in Holland) here has either a 550b, 442 or a 533.

I replaced my tank on my silver with a bronze tank. No issues but now the pot support is going to have experts scratching there heads. (old pot support new tank)
On a side note has anyone ever tried making extensions on the pot supports like the chinese clones. It seems a good idea ( a minor francky in the future?)
