As the title describes this is stove number 2 of the 530 models that I have. It has lived a very well used life before my acquisition of it. I stopped by a little store of Knick knacks and was browsing and saw the case hidden back behind some cooking wares, I immediately knew what the case was for, and she had a price of $3 on it. I appears to me this model stove is very high (long). Would it be dangerous when cooking. I suspect a fryer on it might be risky for rolling down. Am I wrong?
@sefaudi , You must put it on a level surface to start with, I have cooked with a 9” fry pan on it before several times and have never turned it over.where it is hard to find a even hard surface, I have beenknow to dig a hole and put it down in a hole, or to stack rocks around it if it were very windy conditions. Have had a pan blown off of it by the wind, but it didn’t blow it over. Also you might not can see them real well, but there finger pan supports folded out on it to give it a larger diameter support.

I just picked up my first 530 last week, never really had an interest in this stove due to the ON/OFF nature of it. No simmering whatsoever. I guess one can put little pressure on the tank and let it do its thing..but I know this little blast furnace was designed to boil water not cook your chili for hours. However I always liked the design of it. Hard to believe that this stove is almost 80 years old. After my usual leak inspection and a once over I found that it ran pretty bad, kept going out until it became really hot. Inconsistent. I decided to take it apart and clean every part, easier than I thought. The one part that needs a good shot of carb cleaner once in awhile is the brass mesh/generator tube. After everything was put back together it fired right up and got to operating temperature in no time. I'm kind of glad I joined the club, I'm sure it'll be a great conversation piece the next time I'm car camping.
