I am terrible at taking before pictures. Well that and having too many stoves, heaters, and lanterns on the go.

But I just got around to this one the other night when I had some free time.

Gotta love that galvanized steel. Along with a nickel plated tank and brass you have a sweet combo.

I will have to make new spacer bars that sits into the notches on top of the grill.

The tank is stamped "AB" = 1937 year of manufacture. This 527 came with two Primus 4135 regulated silent burners.
See my other post on the 4135 burners

    Primus 4135 burner mystery.

Below is a Svea 123 for size reference. As you can see from the picture the 527 has a large fuel tank. A claimed burner time of 3 hours and 45 minutes on both burners.

Here is a page from the 1937 Primus Catalogue No:6675 page 29 of 46.

This should be a fun fettle. Both burners are finished and the tank is cleaned. Flame shots are not too far away. Now I just need to work on finding a yacht to go with it.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

Lovely and lively stove. I must put that on top of my wishlist. By the way what does that black knob just below the tank cap and pump do?

Oh that knob. It's a horn to let other stoves know to get the hell out of the way.

No seriously it's just that a knob threaded into the tank. I believe to give the user something to hold while pumping.

So it has no real purpose other than something to hold on to? Gee they thought of everything huh? ;)

Does your stove have a twin sister? Must find one

Nope no sisters yet. There is a 327 on eBay which is the alcohol version.

I am not picky on what fuel the stove uses. I like my stoves like I like my women. Hot and fun to use! Okay I'll get my coat.

I wanted to take a closer look at the business end of the Primus 527. Primus made some of the more complex burners in my humble opinion. The Primus 4135 burner is one complex burner. From the spindle to the side dead nipple it would have costed more to make and buy. The stove has two of them making a costly stove.

Below on the bottom of the picture you'll see the Primus 4135. To the right is the Primus 4190. To the left is the Optimus 209N and the top is the Hipolito burner

You can see the dead nipple here. It's only purpose would be for cleaning I believe

The spindle that I think allows the stove to have a great range of flame control and more power before the needle comes up.

Sorry for the delayed posting. Uploaded pictures when I get a chance. Flame shots and finished stove to follow. But until then here's some more pictures

The dead nipple or blind nipple I think it's correctly called.
I believe for cleaning out carbon. But would also aid in draining a flooded burner. I don't think it would be used to add fuel to the spirit cup. It would require tools and messy priming

The black knob has no use. I believe it was just to allow the user to hold it while you pumped. That or in case they installed a fuel gauge or pressure gauge.

    Cheers
