Well spotted. There's an interesting lighter next to it with a compartment for matches.

    123....

I don't think it will catch on ;)

By far better than an Edsil!

More like the VW Beetle of camp stoves.

Whatever it was in that link froze the screen and I'd to crash the 'puter to restore things, then for a while couldn't log back on to CCS.

    I spy a problem.

I thought the display was by anonymous designers.
Don't we know the designer of that stove?

I saw your signature Sam, I'm glad you came through and hope you are on the mend!
It was like a bit of a hunt to find the 123. Like Ken said, don't we know who designed it? Did Max Seivert design it?

The quote,"These are objects that make you smile, that demonstrate a high degree of functionality", I totally agree with on the stove.

I had looked through the pics several times until I found it. I wasn't looking for it, it just jumped out there!

The exhibition's research took decades, possibly the SVEA info they found years ago was conflicted or inconclusive (or is the point... WHOSE original idea for this type burner? harder to answer.

Who designed the SVEA 123? Max had a hand in it BUT he had a partner, Carl. I would guess Carl (and engineers Carl worked with) "designed" Sievert stoves re function, performance and safety. So credit Carl, yeah about that, late in life IIRC he admits his 1st stoves were similar to existing stoves, copied some what which was commonplace.

Max Sievert was born in 1849, so I don't think he had much to do with the design of a stove that came out in 1955.

The 123 is a redesign of the Campus 3 and a few other designs from the 1930s?

    Sam I enjoyed this post.
Dave I thought your timely "Where's Waldo" was great.
I'm hearing deals on classics are extremely rare in some geographical areas and rarely can we find a great deal on ebay... i agree.
If you searched [ SVEA 123 ] you would have missed it and the pics are not clear but it was right there in "stoves" hiding in plain sight. I "watched"it but let it go ...so did everyone else i guess, $6.50 US w/free shipping!
