Were the KAP unique Trangia parts there as well?

    OK, let's see...
    - There was a round stamped alu bottom tray the T25 windscreen could stand upon, not
    to sink into the snow.
    - There were a T25 windscreen pair - with KAPs own unique solution of locking the two
    halves together.
    - The lower windscreen had two extra holes stamped into it - to accomodate the fuel line
    and the regulator shaft.
    - There was a one litre aluminium coloured SIGG fuel bottle with the kit.
At least these parts were in my kit I bought directly from Gunnar in Kiruna in 1986...

(But since the fuel bottle was untreated on the inside it would perish within a few years
    - if fuel was stored continuously in it... Personally I nowadays recommend using the
stubby little Chinese 1L bottle shown below, but first triple times treated with POR15 on
the inside. It stands upright much better than the original narrower type does...

And as you know the fuel line is the standard one for a VW 1200 Käfer - and the suction
hose is a standard windscreen washer hose. I guess both are hard as rock by now - and
should be changed out before using the stove...)

    Pity, but still
    The discovery of a lifetime!!!

If you only knew how many people have been searching for a KAP Arctic during the last 10-20-30 years...

You can easily substitute the missing parts with current issue from Trangia. Well, apart from the bottom
tray - but I have a cad drawing for that one - should someone be interested in making the press tooling
    needed to remanufacture them...

    PS
Is it an Optimus or a Patria burner? What's the text on top of the silent hat?

    Hi Odd,

I have three "full" (as pictured) sets, all from the same workshop - 2 unfired, 1 fired with some modifications.

I used to restore stoves as part of my profession, though mostly newer stoves, 80's and up, the odd Borde every now and then. Sadly the service was axed, but i was offered the old parts, would have been trashed instead.

I also got a whole bunch of replacement parts for the KAP, hoses, a few sets of replacement parts for the burner head - some of these i have put up in the trading post here.

The stove above i have put up on e-bay.

I restore stoves for humanitarian use, all proceeds will fund this project. Currently restoring four MSR XGK and a few Whisperlite in the pipeline.

Regarding your PS - it's a Hipolito from Portugal.

Any of Gunnar Finns ingenious burner holders? The one with the fill / ignite rail.

Thanks for answering my question. If it's a Hipolito - it (they) are very late production
