This was a bargain price, looks to have had the base replaced and a different flame plate. Maybe. All yellow pump. I believe I read that the later ones had longer pot supports. These don’t look homemade. First one I have seen. Duane
Re "Later MSR model 9?" at this moment i dunno re later. we agree it's not early /earliest one. but i did notice it has this bracket (fuel line goes thru a bracket that is riveted to the burner housing) yes? it has 9 burner body w/brkt., 4 cutouts... yes? at some point we might give examples like this a narrow year range. Smiles69 example here like yours but still has early-shorter pot supports *yours above -and- steve1000 's MSR #9 - 1974 -and- anfeng's MSR Model 9~9A (his "#2" in pic) ^^^ these 3 also longer pot supports, the 3 look to be a match or near to. do we call them late No.9 w/brkt.? i dunno (gotta run)
Duane, thx for reply. the "all yellow" pump is another detail, good point (you DO fill-in key details for the site, TY). to readers that might not be familiar MSR offered 3 versions of the yellow pump. 1st version is the "all-yellow" 2nd version is yellow pump w/pins 3rd version yellow pump is [hmmm . the whadda-ya-callit]? to your point, re my: "at some point we might give examples like this a narrow year range. Smiles69 example here like yours but still has early-shorter pot supports *yours above -and- steve1000 's MSR #9 - 1974 -and- anfeng's MSR Model 9~9A (his "#2" in pic) ^^^ these 3 also longer pot supports, the 3 look to be a match or near to. do we call them late No.9 w/brkt.?" all 4 are: late No.9 w/brkt -and- all 4 have their original "all-yellow" pump . "at some point we might give examples like... [these four -AND- the "all-yellow" pump] ...a narrow year range." year range for the all-yellow pump continues after these late No.9 s, nonetheless this DOES narrow the year range for the all-yellow pump. thx again
