Since I got hooked on small stoves I'd like to share a picture of both side-by-side. The left is an unused M1950 manufactured by Rogers and the one on the right a used M1942 which may have been manufactured by Aladdin. I just disassembled the top portion of the M1942 to clean the nozzle and skirt using a Dremel round brass brush. The 710mL soda is for height comparison.

    Nice stoves !

I love these little stoves even though they lack a safety valve they are tough little stoves.
Features like a tool that clips to the stove and spare parts in the pump tubes made these stove stand out.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

The M1942 did come with the original wrench and a small clip on "thing" which house a spare nozzle, needle, and a graphite gasket. I just cleaned the skirt and nozzle an hour ago and decided to take pictures of it.

    Safety Valves?

    Ron

Ah sorry to hear that your missing the wrench for the M1950. Are there any spare parts inside the pump tube?

Pulled out the pump tube on the M1950 and did not see anything inside it except the spare pump cup. Oh yeah, now I noticed the wrench (silly me) it was attached between two of the support post and secured by sort of a flat metal.

    Excellent !!!
I like the looks these stoves get at camp. When people find out more they are normally amazed at how advance they are for their age.

That M1942 especially is such an advanced looking stove, hard to believe its pushing 70 years old in not too long.
    Best Regards,

    Doug

    The manufacturer's name (in abbreviated form on some) should be stamped on the central collar of the pot supports of M-1942 stoves, eg. this Aladdin;

Only two days ago a friend gave a M1950 to me.

Made in 1966 by Coleman, in it's original box. The NRV had taken on a permanent set and leaked. On opening the pump tube I found the new parts, a complete set. The stove was fired up within the hour.

These are interesting burners. Bother, now something else to be on the look-out for....
