blue blobs leading off into the background, strange blurry figures passing back and forth--looks like a view into one of those other dimensions they talk about on the science programs

Yup - it's definitely another dimension alright .
It looked well impressive it did - sounded good - and it were rather warm near 'em too .... could have done with a couple for the ride back home - it's slightly chilly .

Once again a fantastic newark. I got there wednesday to an empty field. By friday evening it was full. It was great to catch up with everyone and meet up with new folk too. I was able to put a few faces to the names. There were more stoves and lamps that you could shake a stick at. There was some trading to be done and some fettling too.
On a personal note, i would like to thank kev, paul, henry and collin for sorting my 111 for me. they performed surgery on the beast and bought it back to life. I would also like to thank Den for a great curry on saterday evening. He spent the day slaving over a hot stove or two. Thanks Den.
The weather was kind to us this year with blue skys and a little breeze. Im looking forward to next years session. To those of you that were unable to attend, Book the time off work now for next year. Cancel all weddings, partys etc and we will see you there.
    :) :)

    Hello all,

taking time for a quick post.

It was a great weekend indeed, I fully enjoyed everything. I even managed to grab my hands on a stove, a nice British military no. 2 from 1966, and some parts here and there. which I will post pictures of later this week.

The world record 111/22 was a blast. Glad I could contribute to it.

Currently I'm knee deep in boxes and such. I've been moving house today. Was a truckload of work ;)

Anyway, I'm sure going to be there next year. Looking forward to it.

    Welcome Home Stove Brothers,

Where are the photos and video? The sound of 84 stoves must have been awesome! I don't think there is any hope of a real US/Canadian challenge this year. Dang, that's alot of stoves!

    Congratulations on another great meet.

    Cheers,

    Manny

Hi Den, you just beat me to it - here's another with video coming shortly! Thanks for a great meal on Saturday night! I heard rumours about a spit-roast next year!

Me & Tom had a great weekend & he's a stovie/lampie in the making. As well as a blowlamp he was given the bulk of a 121 which he wants to polish at the weekend & watch me fettle & he's talked me into giving him the 111T so he can take part next year. He has also claimed a nice unfettled Tilley Guardsman we picked up at a carboot for £2 a month back. Apparently he's been telling everyone at school about the record!

Great to meet everyone & some new faces as well. I haven't yet done the figures but it was a record turnout with 60 odd people there with kids & spouses - a real family event. With this in mind we already have some new ideas for next year.

Despite the complaints (again) about the warden being a bit over zealous with site discipline the site owners were very complimentary about the event & visitors.

Thanks to everyone for coming & supporting the event. There were some great displays & rare opportunity to see some quality collections on display - having been doing displays for a few years I appreciate the effort that goes into to setting up & packing away a display so a big thankyou to all the exhibitors.

I will post some more pics later.

A spit Roast next year would go down well Ross and maybe a chili con carne for those that don't do pork. It would be nice to be able to offer grub to all of those people attending who did not have a chance to order the curry through the CCS site. I was asked by several people on the day who had not ordered if there was any curry going spare, I hate turning people away. It was great to see a large group of lampies and stove collectors sitting together enjoying a meal.

Wim, I have no photos of me cooking but here are a couple of photos of the curry cooking being watched over by one of parras boys while I supervise from a more comfortable position. The stove belongs to David Shouksmith it is a British Army No.3 and it done the job. Thanks David. The rice was cooked on parramethtrol's Primus 535. What a great stove. Thanks Bill.

    Hi Den,

I see you are a man who takes his job very seriously! It must have been a heck of a job to measure the hourly growth of the local grass! Anyhow, I only heard very good comments on your cooking, congrats!   When I grow up and be a rich man I'll come over to sample some of your excellent cuisine :D .

    Regards,

    Wim

PS, I stopped growing the vertical way, even shrunk a bit. The only growth has been horizontally, especially around the navel if you see what I mean

While I was chained to the stove I gave parra's boys my camera and asked them to get some pictures of some of the displays around the campsite. I cannot credit the displays to any of our members as I did not take the pictures but if one of the mods would like to edit this post and add names to displays please do so. Thanks to the parra boys for some great pictures. Lamps, lanterns, stoves and anything the burns, no bias.
