I got this off ebay. It was badly listed and had a starting price of 99p and a buy it now of £1.05, so obviously I bought it straight away :D/ It only had one pot and an orange strap, but I wasn't too bothered for a pound.
When it arrived I was pleasanly supprised.
The strap looked genuine except it was orange. The burner had a clip on hinged simmer ring and a different embossing on the bottom of the burner.
I theorised that this was an old/early trangia.
And to cap it all It seems hardly used.
Maybe I will find another one to make into a KAP Arctic

Nice one mate, you can get a new pan from base camp for about £7 so you've had a sweet deal

    hi Neil
i have the identical stove one pan, hinged simmer ring (one pan was standard at that time apparently) and the orange strap ,i didn't think the strap was original but seeing yours i reckon they must have been sold with it,i can't find the post of it that i did but Trevor had one that was slightly older than mine his had no holes in the pot lifter, it was said that his was early 70's and the one that you and i have is probably mid 70's early 80's iirc
btw you got hell of a deal on that one  and the pan that came with mine was an inner pan in case you want to buy another

Seems to be late 70's as that burner pouch tend to miss earlier and the orange strap was changed to TRANGIA on white bottom around 1980, the perforated grip came circa 1972.

Looks like the burner and simmering ring have been test fired once and that's it - bought my 27 yesterday for nearly nothing, extensively used early 70's missing handle with 1st generation non-stick pan but quite intact.

This is an old thread but we're happy for such revivals! Earlier than mine which is 1978. Mine has the branded strap. Pretty sure my mate we used in 1977 also had the branded strap.

It seems like some Trangias can be in the shops for several years before being sold here in Sweden so I guess your dating of the strap is more accurate.
