Thank you black dog I will give that a go. Regarding the filler cap washer the original seal was in a recess at the bottom and to be honest a pig to get out. I had to break it up. The new one may not be down as far as I thought it find its place once screwed on

Any chance the filler cap could be bottoming out before the seal is actually compressed? Wouldn't expect problems from a Fettlebox seal if that's what it is...

Ready for the big fire up hopefully not literally. Can’t help now I have some understanding of this thing feeling a bit wary of it. All it’s going to take is bit of dirt on the thread of the fuel cap for vapour to escape. Which is what the issue was here

I've known for years when out backpacking miles/kilometers from a vehicle or help, you take care of critical gear. Stove and a shelter at the top.

It just needs respect in use and sound, educated maintenance.

The filler cap thread shouldn't affect pressure, which is retained by the sandwich of underide of filler cap, seal ad top of the filler neck.

Well it fired up and that’s an understatement
I messed up the priming despite watching weeks of videos but next time I will get it right. So had a bit of flame up to kick off.
Once it settled it roared away nicely
Does not like wind but then what stoves do
Maybe the trangia 25 and 27

Made a cracking cuppa and felt safe enough. Also very sturdy in that box.
Thanks for all the advice everyone

Thank you for the acknowledgement and sharing a photo of the stove up and running, it's good to see. Many people accept the help but don't understand that action shots are appreciated!
