    Hi everybody,

    I thought it would be nice to have an adjustable-burner on my Optimus 00, but the 207-Burner is a bit too expensive =;
    so an Phoebus-Burner would be an alternative solution, but I think the threads are completely different, right (the phoebus has an inner thread, the optimus-burner an outer thread) Does anybody know which adapter/rising tube could fit?
    Im talking about this burner
    Thank you!

    regards,
    Lukass

    Hey LuKas, if you know someone who works with a lathe machine he may be able to make an adaptor for you. Unless your Phoebus burner is fitted with a kerosene jet, you will not get a good flame color since the phoebus is normally gas or coleman while the 00 is kerosene.

    Other than 'just for the sake of it', why would you want to fit such a thing to a 00? Judicious adjustment of pressure using pump & pressure release will enable output to be varied from the gentlest simmer through full-on burn.

    It's possible of course. I've adapted a Phoebus burner to fit a Primus 107 stove, but that was because the original burner was missing.

    Phoebus burner on a Primus

    You'll see that my adaptation got more complicated because I wanted to use the stove's own riser-tube-mounted control spindle and pinion wheel.

    Inevitably, you'd need to fabricate some longer pot rest legs to cope with the extra height of the Phoebus burner and adaptor.

    "Why'd you want to?" Ian asks. Heck Ian, you invented the 'Mods, Hybrids and Frankies' forum to take such "what if?" projects!

    ... and I accepted that option in the first phrase of my post.

    Thank you for your replies :content:
    I think it would be funny to have an Phoebus burner on my optimus, because I like to play a bit :mrgreen:
    Of Course I feel comfortable with my Optimus 00, especially since I had my Prabath-silent burner on it and an "integrated" windscreen and heat-reflector... :D/

    It was no precision job as you see, but it works fine!
    I wondered that I could put a pot on it which was just a little bit smaller than my windscreen (just 2mm smaller), but the stove worked still fine!
