My eBay source for these Coleman canisters finally raised their prices. I used to be able to get them with shipping for a little over $11 a canister, shipments of three canisters at a time. About half the price of other sellers. They are now $49 plus shipping, so about $20 more now. I guess I'm set with about 16 canisters stored in my garage along with all my stoves.

You should have bought all his stock and resell them or just keep it for emergencies. Now you have to pay $11 more for the same quantity. The again, when supply is low prices go up.

Ron, I should have a 20+ year supply seems as I have never used the Xtreme stove on a backpacking trip, but it is one of two stoves I plan on using on my last snow camping trip this coming weekend. Still snow higher up here. Due to my large credit card bill every month, I had not ordered any for a month, I wanted one more order, but too late now. I do have the adapter for propane, should not have gotten that with the plentiful supple of Powermax canisters.

That's crazy prices either way. Still a crying shame they quit selling them here.

I bought 36 of the big cans, several years ago, for $1 each, in a junk shop.
Sold a few to Doc, traded some to Hiking Jim, still have about 25 left.
    That's enough, I guess! :-k :)

    Duane,
I will need to find a way to get these to you. :-k
Picked these up from a small logging town near me.

Harold, how much for them? Check Postal regs as they can be shipped by ground only, the seller I was buying from could only ship three at a time thru the USPS. Not sure because of number of canisters or liquid weight for a combustible. Thank you.
    Duane

PS, I see the seller I was buying from is selling more than ever per completed listings, maybe because of summer camping season coming up.

I will be passing through Northern Calif in or near June, after the first weekend. I could swing by and make an engine running offload. Can't stand the thought of asking what a postal service ORM-D permit would cost.  :( Not to mention the background checks, fingerprints, 15 day waiting period etc.

    Mistah Chef BC,
:), I was getting the three canisters shipped for a little over $11 per canister total cost, but had to go USPS ground. A bargain, that's why I got so many. People I don't bp much with live in Anderson, Santa Rosa, Sacramento, Petaluma and a weekend neighbor in Yuba City retired. Of course I'm in Nevada during the week.

Does anyone know where you can still get Coleman Powermax / Coleman Max 300 canisters?
Or do you have some left over, that you do not need any more?
I would also be happy with an empty canister.

They are long ago discontinued. You might find some on ebay.
There is a warning thread on this forum somwhere that the canister can possibly leak after removing from stove.
There is an adapter Coleman made so an Isobutane canister will fuel the stove. That has since been discontinued but may possibly be found somewhere also.

    Hi Ken,

I don't really consider it a Frankie, but an improvement.
The canisters will leak or at least some with leak after the 5 year shelf life.
I suppose it is due to what ever material they used for resealing the canister after removing it from the stove.
My fix is something that works very well.

    Cheers,
    Norman

I applaud you for coming up with the fix for using the Coleman Propane cannisters. I wish I could do that with mine. Could you provide me with a little more detail on how you did that? I have a used but perfectly servicable propane plumber's torch, the simple kind. I have been thinking of cutting off the burner tube and doing something with that to convert my power max stove ($4) so I can use it. I have one full cannister and one half full but that's not much use for having the stove with me on camping trips. I use the Coleman green cannisters for umpteen dozen different things and always find them for a buck or two at garage sales.
