This is a Primus 57sp, date code AA, made in 1936.

When I found it, it was missing the pump knob, the travel cap and the pan support legs.
So, I added them from my spare parts box.
Please note that the pan support legs are homemade and made of brass.

This is a collapsible stove; the pan support legs are removable, and the capacity of the tank is about 2 pints (about 1 litre).
Equipped as standard with the #4047 silent burner which has an internal mechanical (rack and pinion) cleaning device for the nipple.
Model 107 & 110 stoves are also fitted with the same burner.

I'm not sure exactly when the Model 57 was introduced.
However, as 1) it is listed in the ca.1935 catalogue and 2) the Model 107 with the #4047 burner is listed as a new model in the ca.1930 catalogue, I suspect that the Model 57 was introduced sometime in the 1st half of the 1930s.

It is described in the Primus catalogue as follows.
It has an internal cleaning needle which allows easy cleaning of the nipple during burning and regulates the frame without reducing the pressure in the tank.

Later regulating burners, such as the #4190, throttle the flow of fuel directly from the tank with a thick and sturdy spindle in order to adjust the size of the flame.
The #4047, on the other hand, adjusts the size of the flame simply by raising or lowering the cleaning needle. Because raising and lowering the cleaning needle changes the amount of vaporized fuel coming out of the nipple orifice.
However, considering the durability of the cleaning needle, I would say that this may not be a comfortable operation.
It may be better to consider the #4047's flame adjustment as a secondary function.

My 57sp is in the Touring Outfits "De Luxe" travel case.
It comes with a tray so that it can be stored in a functional way.
And by lifting the top cover with a hook and placing the stove inside, you can also get the effect of a windbreak.
Initially, the case had a steel plate with the model number, but from sometime in the mid-1930s, the model number was removed.
I suspect this was because of cost cutting by sharing the case with the multiple models.
