I just received this Primus 96 kit. Stamped on the bottom is AB (1937) with the number 21 below it.
I know it is missing the wrench and spirit bottle but I think that is it. Questions:
    1. Is this the correct tin for the time period?
    2. What should the spirit bottle look like and what are the chances of finding one?
    3. Does the 21 below the date code mean anything?
    Any other observations?
    Thanks!

    1) & 2) You can look at the catalogs in the Library, and the Gallery, on this site to compare your tin to the others and to see the look of the spirit can too. They are available but, quite often rusted out, as they were made of steel, I believe.
    3) Others here have said the meaning of the number is an unknown. Possibly the employee stamp of the one who made it.

Thanks Ken. I've studied the gallery but also read that some of the stoves pictured may not be in the correct tin. From what I can tell mine seems to be correct.

Then I would say the Library/Catalogs would be the best judge.

Thanks Kerry. I count myself as fortunate to have gotten it. This is my second Primus 96 but my other did not have a tin.
I'm anxiously awaiting for the fettlebox to reopen so I can order some parts. Also need an nrv tool.
Keeping my eyes peeled for a 210....

Thanks kerophile. Looks like I'm in good shape except for a spirit bottle and instructions. I swiped a wrench from my other stove!

There is a seller on ebay selling what they claim to be NOS instructions for the 96. I wonder if they actually are NOS.

These old tiny camping stoves are classic. The smaller items in the boxes are not.I don't get hung up on complete sets too much.
