    @tretrop You are from Sweden?! I was thinking that whole country is full of classic stoves & parts with very reasonable prices. Have you checked Tradera? At there I have seen lots of stoves & parts for sale.

    Not only have you got yourself a 96, it is a 96 Sport - the most deluxe version of the stove.

    A burner plate can be made at home, but the lipstick vapourising tube is very hard to find.

    Tretop,
    I always like your posts as you know. Congrats. [edit, oh at some point "the year" is always a welcome detail]
    Might I suggest place a want ad on CCS for a '96 lipstick burner.
    Duane sourced the plate :thumbup:.

    I recall needing the larger "100" lipstick burner years ago, there was an online source for like $75 USD + S&H... I went without.
    Although I'm the minority here, I thought the smaller 96 burners were available back then.
    If they're less rare I expect the burner and maybe a plate will emerge here, a want ad could help that.
    thx omc
    PS an adapter has been used successfully as well btw (adapts 96 to accept std. roarer / silent)..

    What is the difference between the Sport/96 and the 96?

    The pull-out tray Harder, together with the distinctive box with a strut to enable the ‘top’ to be propped upright as a windshield.

    From a 1935 Primus catalogue in the Stove Reference Library. Note the ‘96Sp’, top row, far right.

    Thank you John. Thats the first time I see/hear about that box finesse - which makes perfect sense.

    The Sport version came in a special sturdy tin that had a tray into which all the parts fitted.
    To add to what John has said . . . . . .

    Then I now know the version of my 210 :content:
    (All the goodies in the box came with the stove. They are just “re-located” right now).
    (The picture cheats a bit - the box is not bend/twisted)

    I have no idea which sports want a heavier stove...
    My 210 sport has it's place in my car.

    For the missing parts of OP's stove, just stay looking for another 69, and one day you will find one cheap one with other missing parts.

    @afoton Maybe during 'old days' riding with a horse or driving with a car to somewhere was considered as 'sports'.

    Cheapest way to build a spares & parts stock is to buy in-complete stoves from car boot sales/similar where people just want to get rid of their excess stuff.

    @shagratork

    Thank - It looks like my stove/-box when I bought it. (29 USD).
    Haven't checked the age stamp though. Does anyone know in which period the "sport version" was produced?
    If it wasn't for this thread - I would never have learned about a "sport version".
    Great forum!

    Well, I do look at tradera and ebay, but no luck so far. Base camp bought a big chunk of inventory from Fogas, but both are out of stock.

    It may be that I will have an spare Radius 20 lipstick that I can trade if someone is up for that?

    @Harder D. Soerensen

    The Sport version of the Primus 96 was produced at least from 1929 to 1953.

    Thx Trevor / all,
    Harder, You're learning more and more. I enjoy learning more but caution you the stove maker's overlaps, the twists & turns can seem to never end meanwhile there's some we may never figure out.
    I want to add a detail that may interest you being you're military and Sweden is next door. This relates to military issue sport tins and rare cWW2 years (and why an interest in what year this 96 is).
    thx omc
