They also came in wicker cases. This one is beautifully crafted with the lid seating against a woven band on the base. The kettle here is smaller and the case has a thermos as well. Thermos and kettle could be seen by some as belt and braces.
Ilat sets are quite unusual yet despite their quality and good design they don’t seem particularly popular with collectors. Perhaps that’s why I like them! I also enjoy the prewar Coracle or G W Scott sets but these are super expensive nowadays so I’m forced to stick to their less exotic examples: here’s a lovely two person set complete with an exquisite copper kettle, burner, stand and pan:
@Rob McCall Great stuff Rob. I confess a fondness for the wackier Bandalasta colours. The tea (in the infuser) went in the kettle/pot after the water had boiled.
