No, Kero, mine is old, I found them in antiquities market, in the box between different junk, it was coated with green oxides and had one big dent on the side. Here you see them after fetling.

Virginijus, i do wish i knew who the maker was, perhaps someone who had a steel one rust out, but i do like it and may, if i can find some small brass caps, copy them and then make them by the dozen.

I can make them in copper and brass but i think the members here would prefer all brass. lance

Hi, I believe that with several of these spirit cans with brass filler caps and up-stands, they use the same size and thread as the reserve caps of Optimus 00/45/48 stoves. Base Camp has them:

    2050 Reserve lid for 00, 45, 48, 210, 100/4128, 210 £ 4.75

Logical when you think about it.
The tinned steel spirit cans tend to have coarser threads, rolled into place during manufacture.

    Hope this helps,
    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Hi, here is another possibility: Base Camp:

P1738 SEC Reproduction Spirit Can for Primus 96L, 210L, 212L, Seconds only, some surface corrosion from storage.
    Seconds now £2.50

    New stock available 2011 £4.00

It is worth the price to get the brass riser and cap if you want to make a brass spirit can.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.
