Recently acquired this. It was full of a light green fuel which I can only assume was diesel. I’m interested to know how old it is. I can’t seem to find much information on here.

@Richard Caney nice stove:thumbup: There are several points of detail on it that suggest a date in the very late 1930s, 1940s, or just possibly even a little later. These mainly revolve around the actual legends on the tank, the filler cap and construction details like the recessed filler cap fitting. There are discussions about the significance of these points in the following 2 gallery entries about the No.5's sister model, the Svea No.15, which ceased production before the end of the 1940s:
    Svea No.15 1940s?
    Svea No.15 late 1930s ('40s?)
The No.5 continued in production long after the No.15 was dropped, but with further changes in details which can be seen in later examples in the Reference Gallery.

Thanks. I will have a read. The gentleman whose shed it came from is in his late 90’s so it could well be that old. I’d like to get it working but it looks like special tools are needed.
