BernieDawg, Thank you for the videos. They were great...especially the "dance". I think had I just used to correct fuel in the first place, all of my problems would have been avoided. You are definitely an expert IMHO. and you have a great sense of humor. I am going to work on my "clicks" in the near future and I will have some flame shots to post shortly thereafter. I have a new batch of Labrador puppies (as of yesterday) that are occupying my time for now, but soon I'll get back to the stove. Thanks again, Woodsy
Gary - love the vids. Hope they do go viral! Sounds like the needle has been broken off the rack if you have the bit with which to set the click.
My stove is a 123R. I didn't get pics tonight and the pricker is missing/broken off. I don't know if I did it or it came to me that way, either way, it is gone. The way I understand it, I don't need it for the stove to function properly so I am not going to worry about it for the time being. I am going to follow the video for disassembling the stove and double check the spindle point and that it is free of burrs etc. I know some of you mentioned that, but I am sometimes pretty hard headed and a bit dense when it comes to following written directions, it is much easier for me when I can actually see what you are talking about. I guess that is the reason you keep asking me to post pics and videos. Thank you BernieDawg for the excellent videos...I have them saved in my favorites. Beings how there isn't a pricker to stick into the pencil eraser, I am going to hold it down with my finger and count the clicks...but not tonight. I am tired and headed to bed. Cheers, Woodsy

Woodsy, 1. Leave the broken pricker out, and use the stove like that. There's no need to adjust any clicks without it. 2. The stove should run fine as is. If it does, don't bother to take it apart - just use it and enjoy. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." 3. We're anxiously waiting for your photos, flame shots included. Enjoy! Yonadav
I have already "broke" it. As I stated earlier, I have decided that this stove is my experiment and teacher. Eventually, it may end up being sent to its final demise in "stove heaven"...or more likely sitting on the back shelf as an embarrassment. Cheers, Woodsy
Hang in there Woodsy. Put it back together without the needle as Yonadav says and it should be fine. I've picked up a few stoves for fettling experience in my time too. That's the way you learn. Ray
After a bit, even the parts stoves you don't like to see just sitting there, you have to get them going too. I only have one brassy fount that does not fit correctly anything else I have, although I did have a 210 burner on it for a bit until I got the correct fount for the burner, just need to pass off that now. Woodsy, You give up too easily. I (and others) spent so much time and effort trying to help you, you can't just throw it all away. First, please, please, please upload some photos of the stove, as it is at this moment. Second, it is nearly impossible to destroy a SVEA 123. I can't believe you managed to get it broke beyond repair. Unless you physically BROKE one of the threads on the vaporizer (or the tank), everything can be put together again, and quite easily. This is THE SIMPLEST STOVE in the world. You should get it going soon. If you give up, send it to me, and I promise to use it for years to come. Yonadav
Yonadov, I'm not giving up. I am just going to use this as a learning experience. If the stove survives my experimentation, great, if not, I will put it on the shelf and let it eat at me until I decide to tackle it again. You have nothing to worry about.

I'm getting a little weary of this thread. People have been bending over backwards to help you - especially Yonadav and BernieDawg. You seem to repeatedly pose questions that have already been answered. You contradict yourself in your replies - "I pulled the pin below the jet out and it looked very good" then later claimed that the stove didn't have a cleaning pin. You claim to have spent "hours and hours on this site reading and re-reading posts" but apparently managed to miss what fuel to put in the stove. Personally, I would have found that out before I bought the stove. Of course, you could always have looked at the engraving on the stove, which on a 123 says "petrol". This thread now runs to four pages and I have lost count of the number of times you have been asked to post a photo. The members of this forum are great people who freely give their time and expertise to help others. I don't believe it is too much to expect the poser of the question to make a little effort in return.
