Couldn’t resist this one for the price. An easy fettle and cleanup of tank and fuel tubing/burner seat and it works like a new stove. I really like the details on the cast iron stand. It isn’t as heavy as I expected. Cheers.
What a beauty !!! Nice acquisition my friend. I know I should resist the temptation - so just out of curiosity - where can be such elegant cast iron version of the stoves to be found? Cheers Zoltan
OUTSTANDING!!! I have a soft spot in my heart for ornate cast iron castings. They just don't make stuff like that anymore. Excellent acquisition my friend. Alex
Hi, I have just bought one of these. Do not know anything about stoves though.. Is it ethanol it uses, or white oil? The pump leather are defect - where can I find a new model of these? Would appreciate some guidance Bo
Welcome @Bo Larsen. It uses kerosene, and pump leathers are available from the 'Fettlebox' store. Link on the home page.
Thank you If I should clean it inside the fuel tank, would it then be a good idea to unscrew the screw in the bottum of the tank and clean there as well?
This only a personal view, but if the NRV is functioning then I wouldn't disturb it. Others would elect to renew the seal there as a matter of course. It is your decision how much work you wish to carry out. The tank should only need swilling with fresh kerosene to remove any bits that may be lurking in there. Do this until clean kerosene only is poured out. You can filter any dirty fuel and use it in the stove.
