This Pak Cook and instructions. Instructions are barely legible. Believe this is from around 1980. Burns fairly well but will need the best of fuels.

My brother in law has one of the same era . Seems to function and be as reliable as the parent Svea 123 . Very accurate clone . A few years later he purchased a second , it is a 123R clone ,noticed on it the cap was made to a smaller diameter ,probably to avoid patent / trade mark infringement . Nice example you have . Thanks for the post . WR

Does the earlier PakCook's fuel cap the Svea/Optimus stoves?

Yes one of the better clones for sure, I notice no difference in performance with any of my 123/123Rs.

The early ones are pretty Identical to the parent , caps from a 99 . 8 or 123 all fit the Pak cook and vice verse . The newer example i have had in hand a had a cap that was distinctively smaller in diameter but of the same design . The safety valve is a hex retainer /adjuster rather than Penta as I recall . I should add the one that I actually had was the 123 clone and after much service the bottom solder developed a hole that made the container smell of fuel . Had it light off and bump a pan of water off the stand . I replaced the font with a dented one from a 123 and it still works today . The example I had also used brass rivets X4 ea instead of spot welds on the wind screen as the original and the above example have . WR

The Pak Cook cap doesn’t seem to snug down as well. The Svea less wind screen pot and handle is about 10 grams heavier. The tank diameters are identical and the Svea is about 2.5-3 mm taller.
