I have various stoves and use them in different conditions but nothing has the practicality of this stove in terms of storage and setup. I just added a piece of fuel hose on the rod of control knob and now it also very silent when carrying.
I'm new to the site...awesome information by the way. I just picked up 2 of these russian stoves here in afghanistan. any info is appreciated. I am looking for parts! need the wrenches, burner plates and one control knob, and instructions if anyone has them. Thanks
Hi armymp. Here are the instructions: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/11445 If you have any Problems with the Cyrillic, here are the Instructions, in English, for an Optimus 8R: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/272 You should be able to get a burner plate cut and shaped from a piece of brass sheet. If not, new burner plates are available (from our Sponsor, Base- Camp) for Optimus 8 stoves, and should fit. The Russian Touristy is an Op,8 clone: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/6856 Best Regards, Kerophile.
Since it's an 8r clone... THIS- http://cgi.ebay.com/Optimus-spare-f...922?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f03d41382 Should work!
