I’ve asked before, but never messed with trying to make a metal jig to bend flat stock or round stock. Second set of supports I’ve made the last few weeks, one set for one of my other stoves. Like my first set, I’ll grind down the area that sets in the socket on the fount. Much easier than trying to make a kink. Hard part is all the measuring to get correct height and determining how far into the socket the support will go. Just used a piece of wire as a template to follow the contour of an original Coleman Solus support, marked the middle part of any curve with a permanent marker, then straightened out the wire and laid it alongside my stock and marked where those bends would be. Locked the round stock into my vise and proceeded to pull or push the stock to desired shape for the upper bend that is more drastic, then moved the stock to another position, barely being able to hold in the vise and then make the more sweeping bend. Eye balling all the time. No heat needed. Need to determine length on both ends now and experiment with the ground down end. Duane
@hikerduane I've gotten away with wood screws in a 4x4 in a pinch. I've also used something like this...and a pair of vice grips to hold it Amazon.com More than one way to skin that cat haha
I used a piece of wood as a jig for my Campus stove grate. No reuse later. Not likely to need anything more professional. Duane
