This stove was acquired recently but I have been having a hard time trying to pin point specific information about it! I know absolutely nothing about these stoves so I apologize in advance about my terminology :)

It is marked Svea - Made in Sweden on the top portion of the burner and on the bottom of the stove. On one side it reads "Employez Le Petrole Standard" (French), the other is "Gebruikt Petroleum" (Dutch), and the third side has 3 stars in the middle and No.5 above it. I have looked at the No.5 model, but this looks nothing like it or anything else I have researched! Any help would be wonderful! Thanks!

Looks like a SVEA #5 alright.

Your stove is missing the inner and outer burner caps, you'll need to replace them before you can use it.

Here's a photo of my SVEA #5 for comparison ... it also has a pan ring, which your stove is missing - but this isn't crucial to the function of the stove.

It appears that SVEA had an arrangement with different oil companies to supply/license 'badged' stoves.
I have a SVEA #106 marked 'Splendor', an Italian oil company.
This might explain the French 'Standard' marking on your stove.

Hi Attymas. Here is the sister stove ot yours. I believe it is a Svea No5, from the 1930s or earlier, re-badged for the French-speaking market.

Standard Oil was/is a US-owned, International Oil Company, also known as Esso ( S.O.= Standard Oil).

As Spudz says you need to buy some burner caps for your nice stove.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

An interesting snippet further to George's post:

Exxon acquired Mobil in more recent history which grew out of Standard/Socony/Vacuum oil companies - Vacuum being another 'stove badger' using their Sunflower brand.

A check of the International Fuel Names link shows that this is definitely a KEROSENE burner.

    Safety first.

    Hi Trevor
Oh, I don't know.... ...maybe eBay? 8-[

Attymass (original poster) had it listed a few minutes after Kerophile's and before Ross' posts. Sorry about gloating. I feel a might bit guilty playing my cards so close to my chest. Guess I kept my eye open.

    1236454046-all_seeing_preyemus.jpg

It started up right away with a new filler gasket, a new Sefa pump cup and borrowed caps. It's operating with the cork NRV, though I'll change that out when I do the restore. It's in the que, but may be a month or so. I'll post it in the SRG when I get it done.

By the way, your new avatar (shagrat-ork) certainly commands attention. As I've seen pictures of the genuine Trevor, I can only conclude this is the result of a long night at the pub? ;)

    Cheers,
    Gary

PS - the all-seeing preyemus artwork belongs to Ross. I think it's brilliant, I "borrowed" it, and I hope he won't mind too much me reusing it here. It's a super creation!
